Computers are now commonly used parts of the classroom with teachers often relying on them to model and deliver lessons. They provide access to the internet, the largest database in existence with the ability to access information and images of almost anything conceivable meaning the potential for their use in the classroom and across subjects is very exciting to contemplate.
The use of computers can support all lessons by the use of appropriate software packages, with children being able to video and review their performance in music, PE as well as creating collages of research about artists, religions, historical figures and periods. Typing up work for display means children are focused on formatting and accurate reproduction of work onscreen whilst drawing and calculation software allows children to perform mathematical calculations.
