Class Dojo is an online tracker of achievement and behaviour for use in the primary classroom, allowing parents to have a look at the progress and merit of their child as well as their behaviour. It tracks and presents positive and negative points about children in full view of anyone with the appropriate access credentials. 

 

Children enjoy receiving accolades being applied to their profiles, with comparison across schools being possible by comparing the different class profiles rendering this a potential reward mechanism for use in the classroom. Parents further enjoy accessing and seeing their children's progress and communicating with teachers through the application, with good work and photographs being displayed there for them to access and look at.

 

I was fortunate to see Class Dojo in regular use in my EPP placement school where the class teacher used the system to communicate regularly with parents as well as tracking behaviour and achievement. The Dojo also features a number of video resources presenting new movements in primary education such as the set dedicated to informing children about the Growth Mindset.
